IWC Chronograph Edition “La Cumbre Volcano” Watch 44mm Black Dial Black Rubber Strap. IW379505
IWC Schaffhausen has dedicated a limited edition timepiece to the special forces of nature responsible for the eruption of the volcano La Cumbre, on the island of Fernandina in 2009. By addressing another thematic feature of the Galapagos Islands, the case design takes the blackness of the hardened volcanic rock, with this black rubber coated stainless steel case. Featuring Calibre 89365 which provides the wearer with a 68 hour power reserve and oscillates at a high frequency. The timepiece is equipped with a flyback function, allowing the wearer to effortlessly time a rapid sequence of events, for example the laps in a race or such like.
A stopwatch function with minutes and seconds is also a welcomed feature for those looking for an added level of functionality in wristwatch. For diving purposes, the external/internal rotating bezel has been integrated with SafeDive technology allowing the wearer to dive without the worry of elapsed remaining dive time. The last 15 minutes remaining dive time is highlighted in a deep red colour around the periphery of the dial, adding a splash of colour into the design. Lastly a sumptuous black dial with chunky luminescent appliqués teams beautifully with a comfortable black rubber strap, which molds to the wrist effortlessly for maximum comfort. A sleek, confident timepiece for the daring explorer.
